The main bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-A as seen in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. For the last original series crew film, Nicholas Meyer was chosen to direct 1991's movie to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the franchise. He'd previously helmed the popular Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, which has been lauded as saving the franchise. Like in that film, he chose to have the Enterprise sets redressed to convey a more militaristic "gunboat diplomacy" feel to them. Therefore, the bridge of the previous film was stripped of its warm, carpeted aesthetic in favor of battleship grey walls and metallic deck-plating; the entirely touch-screen control surfaces now adorned with physical buttons and switches. He also chose to re-arrange the bridge stations so that the entire main cast could fit within the frame when photographed from the front of the bridge.
