The main bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-A as seen in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. At the end of the previous film, we see Captain Kirk and crew take off on a new adventure in their newly christened "Enterprise-A". However, between the two films, the bridge set was stored outside temporarily at Paramount Studios, only to be destroyed by a freak rain and wind storm. Pieces did survive (the turbolift alcoves, the helm console, the floor wedges, and the upper soffits) but the rest was rendered unusable. Herman Zimmerman was given the task to produce a new bridge on a shoestring budget. He took cues from the Original Series Enterprise bridge and opted for continuous banks of display-screen laden bridge staitons instead of the "far out" console shapes of the The Motion Picture era bridge, giving the bridge a much needed modern sleekness. Although this bridge got a more militaristic facelift for the next film (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country), this bridge is often overlooked for being less-detailed and drab than the bridges in the surrounding films. While I agree with this, I think this bridge still has a beauty to it, primarily due to the bluish-purple accent lighting with warm tones.
