The main bridge of the U.S.S. Excelsior NCC-2000 as seen in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. In the final Star Trek film featuring the original series crew, Hikaru Sulu (George Takei) was finally given his own command: The U.S.S. Excelsior. Introduced in Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, the Excelsior was the successor of the Constitution-class starships we'd come to know and love through the Starship Enterprise. Part of the failed Transwarp Drive project, it was originally an experimental ship but was subsequently put into regular duty under Sulu's command. The bridge itself was a redress of the Enterprise bridge featured in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, given Nicholas Meyer's more militaristic aesthetic. It was given a blue colors in contrast with Enterprise's reds, and featured the conn/ops stations of the Enterprise-D bridge seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation. It also featured an extended aft section, featuring the first "Master Systems Display" ever used on a Star Trek bridge.
